The World’s Biggest LEGO® Ship

The World’s Biggest LEGO Ship

DFDS don’t like to do things by halves, so when they decided to build a LEGO® version of a DFDS ship, they didn’t stop until they’d built the world’s biggest! The ship, which now holds the Guinness World Record as the biggest of all time, was built to help them celebrate their 150th anniversary. After all, it’s not every day you get to celebrate 150 years in the business. The ship is appropriately named Jubilee Seaways and we are excited to announce is that it will be coming to BRICKLIVE 2016.

Jubilee Seaways was designed by Jesper Aagesen, Head of New Building at DFDS, and was based on a futuristic concept, rather than being built to resemble one of their current ferries.

DFDS called on 7,000 staff from 75 locations across 20 countries to help build thousands of big LEGO® bricks, made of 48 individual LEGO® bricks each. These big bricks were then used by LEGO® artist Warren Elsmore and his team to create the magnificent ship.

BRICKLIVE is back in 2016 at the NEC, Birmingham with even more of the world’s favourite BRICK. The UK’s biggest celebration of LEGO® will take place during the school half-term holiday from 27th to 30th October, making it the must-book day out for all the family.
