Brick Flicks

BRICK LIVE show founder Warren Elsmore brought along BRICK FLICKS, iconic movie scenes recreated in LEGO from his latest book.

There are perhaps few toys as iconic as LEGO bricks. However, since the LEGO brick was born, another industry has created thousands of iconic images that we’ve grown to know and love. What better way to celebrate the motion picture industry than by recreating these images in LEGO form?

Brick Flicks recreates 60 famous movies from one of the earliest colour films ‘The Wizard of Oz’ (1939), right up to the computer-generated imagery of ‘The Life of Pi’ (2012). This ‘movie marathon’ goes through action, comedy, drama, science fiction and more as a celebration of the versatility of LEGO.

Warren adds: “Each film brings its own challenges as we strive to create an image that is instantly recognisable. In some instances, we’ve chosen to use a scene from the film itself and in some cases the movie poster itself is our ‘main protagonist’. Either way round, I hope that the image we’ve chosen brings back memories – or perhaps triggers a desire to expand your own film collection!”

These amazing images and some of the intricate models used to create them will be on display in our own movie gallery for you to enjoy – and guess which film they are showing.

BRICK LIVE is back in 2016 at the NEC, Birmingham with even more of the world’s favourite BRICK. The UK’s biggest celebration of LEGO® will take place during the school half-term holiday from 27th to 30th October, making it the must-book day out for all the family.
