BRICK 2015 WELCOMES AFOLS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE
UK LEGO fans will experience an amazing journey at BRICK 2015, held from 11-13 December, as iconic buildings from all over the world will be recreated at London’s ExCeL by amazing Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOL).
Chicago based Rocco Buttillere, a fourth-year architecture student at Illinois Institute of Technology, is bringing a unique collection of sky scrapers featured in the Chicago skyline, as well as New York’s Empire State Building and the former ‘Twin Towers’ of the World Trade Centre.
His display, LANDMARK | LANDSCAPE, features more than forty models of works from nine global cities, and to celebrate his UK debut, Rocco will unveil an exciting recreation in LEGO of The Shard and Houses of Parliament.
Also flying into make his UK debut is Georg Schmitt from France, who will be displaying supersized LEGO architecture of Paris’ Le Louvre and Eiffel Tower as well as exquisitely detailed models of Chateau du Saint Cloud and Sacre Coeur.
Also paying tribute to an iconic London building is Ireland’s Janet VanD, with an incredibly detailed LEGO model of one of the West End’s oldest theatres – Her Majesty’s Theatre on Haymarket.
Whilst the front of the 118-year-old building shows the posters for Phantom of the Opera, celebrating 30 years in residence, the rear offers a view of inside the theatre complete with the detailed décor of the auditorium, a full orchestra pit and even the Phantom and Christine performing on stage.
Master builder and founder of BRICK 2015 Warren Elsmore will be bringing the Wonders of the World to ExCeL including likes of the Great Wall of China, Stonehenge and the Grand Canyon.
